AWARDS AND PRO-BONO WORK

At Borders & Borders, service to our community is a value we hold dear. Our attorneys volunteer with and serve on the boards of directors of several charities. We currently serve, or have served on the boards of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, Hand in Hand Ministries, the Housing Foundation, E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park Foundation, the YMCA, EarthSave International, EarthSave Louisville, the Passionist Earth and Spirit Center and the Louisville Urban League. We have also served on the Foreclosure Working Group of the Metropolitan Housing Coalition.

We have had a special relationship with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville. Since 1990, John Borders has volunteered for Habitat, serving on the board of directors for six years and as President for two years. The firm has handled every single sale from Habitat to its partner family for free, closing more than 500 houses to date. The firm also provides other pro bono services for Habitat partner families, including wills and estates.

As a firm, or as individuals, we have been honored with the following awards:

2007 Governor’s Award, Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service
